Princess Life When You’re Broke

Disclaimer: this post is not about becoming a real princess but being a figurative princess! I’m not looking to marry a prince (it looks like a lot of work!). I just like to feel like a princess, though I wouldn’t refuse an invitation from the Queen, thank you very much!

I believe it’s like a rite of passage for every little girl to have a princess phase in her life at least once, some girls don’t have them at all, whereas for others (me) that phase never ends. I don’t think it’s a crime to think myself as a “princess”. Do I sound like a crazy person? Frankly, I don’t care. It doesn’t mean that because my family is not royal or just wealthy that I can’t feel like I’m privileged too. The magic potion is consisted by a lot of confidence, manners and being resourceful. Let’s take it apart now; confidence is when you believe in yourself, even when you’re scared, I think “fake it till you make it” is a very good idea when you need a little boost; manners: even if you didn’t grow up in a royal family or even if you eat pizza with your hands (the right way!), it’s not difficult to learn manners, just read a book about them and you will never embarrass yourself whatever your background; being resourceful: a very important trait for everyone (in my opinion), you don’t have to be a genius or study/have studied in an ivy league university, you just have to want to learn about different things and especially about general culture to be able to hold a conversation, there are so many books, even films that can help you. Honestly it’s not so difficult! Continue reading “Princess Life When You’re Broke”

How To: Ultimate Birthday Gifts List

In my quest for the list of perfect birthday gifts, I encountered a lot of obstacles and adventures. Through the jungles that I crossed (shopping stores + online), the dangers I faced (unimaginable selection), I managed to find what I was looking for; a foolproof list of birthday gifts. Gifts that are the right mix of thoughtfulness, fun and necessity. Price is important too or more accurately low price. As you may have read from my previous post, when it comes to Christmas gifts, I can be a little “cheap” though I prefer to call it “creative”. I apply the same plan of action for the birthday gifts too.  Inspired by my best friend’s recent birthday, I wanted to offer to the world, my Birthday Gifts Guide to Success.

8 Weeks To Christmas

Christmas might be my most favorite holiday of the year (at least that’s how I feel every year during this period). Some may think that it’s quite early to start thinking about it, others will say that it’s the right time, and there may be a few who will say I should have started sooner. In my opinion, this is the perfect time for the preparations to slowly begin.

It can be argued that Christmas is a commercial holiday that can influence people to spend money that they don’t have, in its name. However, even when it might be a quite “manipulative-prone” holiday, I believe that it can also bring hope, a better ending to a (most times) hard year. It’s a reason to reunite with the people you love, your family and it is shown that during that period, most people show their more humane side of themselves (something that we should do though the whole year around).

So, it’s 52 days to Christmas, 7 weeks and 2 days, let’s say roughly 8 weeks.

How to organize your space

Being a student comes with a lot of advantages but also with some restrictions, like money and what I’m about to talk about today, space.

As a poor student but in the same time a young professional, I chose to rent a room in a flat instead of living in the dorms. It’s a cozy two-bedroom flat albeit small and I’m lucky to have a very lovely roommate. The rent is not the cheapest and there are some months that I don’t have much money left after paying the rent but it’s clean and fairly new, and by walking distance to my college campus.

So in my case, when it comes to my space, it’s more about my bedroom and some tips that I found helpful when I organized my own room. Continue reading “How to organize your space”

How to organize your schedule

Nowadays, it has become more and more impossible to just be one thing. We have become multi-taskers and we’re working at different projects simultaneously. If you take me for example, I’m a student, an employee and a wannabe blogger. Of course, I’m also a daughter, a sister, a grand-daughter, a best friend, a simple friend, a roommate and the list goes on. But how can you stay afloat with all the responsibilities and engagements that come with these different roles. Continue reading “How to organize your schedule “

College Life

As you may have noticed under the name of my blog, this is about the lifestyle of a college student in London. I am proud to say that I’m studying in one of the best fashion colleges in  the world, in one of the most fascinating and expensive cities of the world. Thus, I’m a working college student.

In this post, I wanted to talk about college life (I’ll talk about working while studying further down the line) and my impressions so far. Continue reading “College Life”
